Where composites, CFD, and lap time meet

I'm a Production Engineering & Management graduate from the Technical University of Crete (TUC), and Mechanical Lead of Prometheus Eco Racing at NTUA. My work sits at the intersection of composites manufacturing, aerodynamics, and structural simulation: turning CAD concepts into raced, validated hardware.

Over the past few seasons I've led the mechanical design of ultra-efficient single-seaters for the Shell Eco-marathon, building deep, hands-on expertise in CFRP structures, CFD-driven bodywork, FEA-validated components, and the vehicle dynamics that tie it all together on track.

  • CFRP

Layup design, manufacturing, and structural validation of carbon-fibre monocoques and components.

  • AERO / CFD

Bodywork shaping and drag reduction driven by computational fluid dynamics simulation.

  • FEA

Finite element analysis to validate strength, stiffness, and safety margins before parts hit the track.

  • VEHICLE DYNAMICS

Chassis, suspension, and handling tuned for efficiency and stability at the limit.

FIG. 01 — PYRFOROS IV · Prometheus Eco Racing (NTUA) · Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2026

PYRFOROS IV is the fourth-generation prototype from Prometheus Eco Racing, NTUA's Shell Eco-marathon team. As Mechanical Lead, I directed the car's structural design, composites manufacturing, and aerodynamic development from concept through competition, with a single target: the most kilometres out of every kilowatt-hour.

  • CFRP monocoque and body panels engineered and laid up in-house to minimise mass
  • CFD-driven bodywork development to cut aerodynamic drag at race speed
  • FEA-validated chassis and suspension components ahead of scrutineering
  • Vehicle dynamics tuning to balance rolling resistance, stability, and efficiency targets
