Process & results

As team leader and mechanical engineer for the five-person Innovative Racing Team, I owned project planning, team coordination, and technical design — designing the vehicle in CAD and running simulations to optimize it.

The car used a chain-driven axle from a brushed motor with gear reduction for torque, and custom solar panels built in-house and tuned for optimal voltage/current. Everything was designed for buildability with hand tools and minimal resources, without sacrificing speed, handling, or safety.

The car won its race in July 2019.
